Mr. N. Velu to his friends — is an entrepreneur based in Mumbai, known among the people around him for being generous without being asked twice. Over the years he helped a great many people from very different walks of life, sometimes with money, more often with advice, guidance and plain encouragement.
About the Trust
Our Achievements
- 95 students supported since 2011 — an average of around six every year, sustained for fifteen years without interruption
- 33 Bachelor of Engineering graduates — the largest single group, across civil, mechanical, electrical and computer streams
- 32 Diploma graduates — polytechnic and technical qualifications that put students into skilled work quickly, often while supporting a family
- 10 doctors — the longest and costliest courses the Trust funds, and the ones most likely to be abandoned midway without support
- 7 Bachelor of Commerce graduates — accounting, banking and business qualifications
- 8 further graduates across other professional and academic streams — nursing, teaching, arts and science
- Every application is verified in person — no case is sanctioned on paperwork alone; the Trust visits and confirms the need before releasing a rupee
- Nearly 90% of funds come from the founder’s own family — the Trust gives before it asks, and every outside contribution is added to that base rather than relied upon
- The remainder comes from like-minded members of the community — friends and well-wishers who backed the idea from the beginning
- Accounts are kept with complete transparency — systematic financial procedures, full accountability to both donors and beneficiaries
